3d... :-D
For my 3D piece i'm going to look at the movement and shape of the skirt while Dee is spinning. The material gathers and i think this could make for an interesting piece.. plus i love working with material so... excitement, yes.

figure and dance
I wanted to get the whole dance onto one page by having the figures leading into one another or on top of one another. I wanted it to be messy so that there was lots of line and movement in the dance.

Shadows!!
After looking at the photos of my sister, I decide to focus on shadows.. the shapes the shadows made in the pictures were interesting and would make nice prints so onwards to the print room..

my journey!
so i started off in the beginning with the mind map and from that i focused on dancers movement and the shapes they made through dancing. I then had a look at the muscle movement but lost interest in that not long after i started looking at that.. I then focused on the jumping of the dancers.

Some early trials..
I looked at movement in dancers in the very beginning and I looked at ways in which i could make everything on the page move.. which medium would best allow it and what colours would best portray it.
I did this piece in oil pastels and used colours that would show the points of greater movement, like the darker colours in places which have the pressure of that movement.

my hopping around the garden sister!
After some persuasion I managed to convince my sister to put on her ballet gear and do a little jumping around in the garden, the two of us had a bit of a laugh! Her jumping around like crazy! I manage to get some pretty good photos, I can definitely work from these.
